About the Event

Where is our society heading? Could things be different? Our generation is speaking up.

Find out how the youth-led, non-partisan, political group is empowering young citizens to take up a more active role in democratic life in the UK, by fostering leadership and critical-thinking skills, with Chief Executive of MLMS Mete Coban.

Mete has founded the All-Party Parliamentary Group on a Better Brexit for Young People, contributed to the increase of turnout for young people at the 2017 UK General Elections, and received the UK Government’s National Democracy Change-Maker of the Year Award in 2018. The youngest ever elected Councillor in the London borough of Hackney, he is also Chair of the Skills, Economy & Growth Commission. Previously, he worked on the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan’s selection campaign, leading on youth engagement.

Mete joins us as part of our events programme in partnership with the British Embassy Lisbon.
