MLMS announces Young Leaders applications 2021
Updated: Mar 10
My Life My Say is delighted to announce that applications for its second annual Young Leaders Programme are open for the years 2021/2022. After a successful launch last year, the charity’s Young Leaders programme has been comprehensively designed to equip young people with the necessary skills to become the leaders of tomorrow.
This unique and diverse programme selects 20 ambitious young people who have a desire to go out into their communities and transform the lives of others. Across the country, there are talented young individuals who are at the forefront of change, and this programme sets out to equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience, to continue to transform the lives of others.
“At My Life My Say, we aspire to push ourselves in everything we do. We truly believe that young people, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, deserve to have their voices heard. That’s why we developed the Young Leaders programme, where we can empower young people to become our future leaders,” - Mete Coban MBE, Chief Executive, My Life My Say.
From Covid-19 to climate change and inequality, MLMS will train young people to be able to address the crises of the future in all industries such as politics, journalism, business, and more.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with high-profile figures from a variety of industries such as David Lammy MP, Alastair Campbell, Sir Keir Starmer, and many more.
Training sessions will be held in the following areas:
“Since joining the Young Leaders programme with My Life My Say, I have gained new experiences and new tools. I have connected with other Young Leaders across the country, broadening my network. Not only have I received training, but I have had the chance to hear from influential people and people in power, which I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do if I was not on the programme. This has not only helped me gain knowledge but also to feel inspired and confident in my voice as a young person, which has led me to start my own local campaign. Mete and the team at MLMS have been so supportive.” - Kira Charlton, Founder of War on Women & Epsom Against Sexual Violence. UK’s UN Women’s Award Winner.
My Life My Say prides itself on providing opportunities to those who are from underrepresented backgrounds. The charity welcomes everyone, regardless of experience, to apply.
