US Embassy commissions My Life My Say to deliver presidential election programme

  • Leading UK youth charity successfully awarded funding grant from the US Embassy in London

  • The project will focus on the US elections with a series of digital events between September and December

  • My Life My Say will aim to strength the US and UK relationship among young people in Britain

Following a competitive bid process, My Life My Say, a leading youth charity is pleased to announce that it has successfully been awarded a grant by the US Embassy in London to cover the 2020 American presidential election.

This innovative project will be the first of its kind and will enable My Life My Say to inform British young people about the government, politics, culture, and people of the United States, with emphasis on the shared values of the UK and US.

Over Zoom, My Life My Say will host leading experts from the world of politics, journalism and social influencers between September and December. Upcoming events will focus on the presidential race, including the primary process, the role of the electoral college, political campaigns, the two-party system, and American voting behaviour.

My Life My Say and US Embassy programme timeline:

  1. Thursday, 1st October – Introduction: United States Presidential Election 2020

  2. Thursday, 8th October Black History Month: Diverse political representation in the US and UK

  3. Thursday, 29th October – Who will be the next US President?

  4. Wednesday, 4th November – US Election Results 2020: What is next?
