Scope of the job

We are actively searching for a highly skilled and creative Social Media Manager to join our team at My Life My Say, a charity dedicated to engaging young people in politics and democracy.
 

In this role, you will be responsible for creating social media strategies and content that effectively captivate and engage our target audience. Your main focus will be engaging young people and our Squad Community through various social media platforms, encouraging their active participation in our initiatives and promoting their attendance at our events.
 

We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of social media trends, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for empowering and amplifying the youth voice in the political arena. If you are enthusiastic about using social media as a powerful tool to drive positive change and inspire young individuals to become active participants in democracy, we invite you to join us in our mission.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an effective social media strategy to engage young people and the Squad Community in My Life My Say's initiatives and events.

  • Create trendy and eye catching content for various social media platforms, including TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn as well as our Website.

  • Oversee, plan and deliver content across different platforms using scheduling tools such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Asana.

  • Manage and maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all social media platforms.

  • Monitor social media trends, analyse engagement metrics, and adjust strategies accordingly to maximise reach and impact.

  • Develop and implement social media campaigns to promote specific initiatives, events, and calls to action.

  • Identify and collaborate with influencers, partner organisations, and ambassadors to amplify reach and engagement.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging social media trends, bringing innovative ideas and strategies to the team.

  • Track and report on social media performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Foster a sense of community and belonging within the Squad Community, encouraging active participation and creating opportunities for dialogue and collaboration.

  • Undertake audience research and analysis.

  • Analyse competitor activity.

  • Manage a budget for social media activities.

  • Educate other staff on the use of social media and promote its use within the organisation.
