About the event

Join us for an enriching experience as My Life My Say collaborates with Chatham House to bring you our next Democracy Café. In partnership with Chatham House's Common Futures Conversations, we're excited to explore the perspectives of youth from the UK, Europe, and Africa on Civic Engagement. From the dynamics of democratic participation to the power of voting, we'll delve into barriers and foster discussions on innovative youth-led solutions to combat political apathy worldwide.

What is a Democracy Café?

Our Democracy Cafés endeavour to engage young people in local and national decision-making processes and to empower them to continue this within their local communities. They aim to reignite the traditional 1930s 'talking shop', which was often in the local cafe, where local people would meet to discuss current affairs. Our Democracy Cafés have been an incredibly effective way of bringing young people from diverse backgrounds together to talk about political issues.

*Important note: Please arrive from 5:15 PM onwards, the event will start promptly at 5:30 PM.
