Scope of the Role
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Squad Community Coordinator to support our Squad Community Manager and contribute to the smooth running of our Squad programme. This is a great opportunity to work at the heart of MLMS’ youth engagement work, supporting the delivery of leadership programmes, coordinating opportunities, and helping maintain an active and engaged Squad community.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with young people, enjoys organising and coordinating activity, and wants to gain hands-on experience in programme delivery and operations.
Please note that this is a remote UK job role.
Key Responsibilities
Squad Leadership Programme:

Support programme planning and communication with Squad Leaders

Help organise training sessions, meetings, and leadership development activities

Monitor Squad Leader participation, including following up with those who are less active in sessions

Track engagement and outcomes for reporting and evaluation

Support with booking travel and accommodation for Squad members
Community Engagement & Coordination:

Conduct regular audits of attendance and engagement across Squad activities

Track opportunities as they come through and coordinate with the Squad Community Manager to confirm Squad Leader attendance

Support with event management of Squad day (bookings, dietary requirements, travel)

Manage and monitor RSVPs for Squad sessions
Communication & Admin:

Review and respond to Squad member requests via WhatsApp and Squad inbox, including technical queries

Create, maintain and update FAQ’s for Squad community

Conduct a regular review of WhatsApp join requests and manage onboarding communications
-
Support the management of the Squad WhatsApp group, including sharing a weekly political post (poll or discussion topic) (training will be provided)

Create and manage Squad specific social media channels
Personal Specification

Must have completed the My Life My Say Squad Leadership Programme (required)

Confident using social media platforms, ads and performance analytics

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Highly organised with strong attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively

Proactive and able to take initiative

Confident engaging with young people and building relationships

Reliable, professional, and able to follow through on tasks
What you'll gain

Expectations

To commit to 2 days per week for a 12-month period starting May/June 2026 (remote)

To attend and contribute to relevant team meetings and events
-
To respond to messages and support community activity in a timely and professional manner

To take ownership of tasks and proactively support the Squad Community Manager
-
To maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality at all times
-
To be flexible and supportive in line with the needs of the role and wider team
Salary and Conditions of Service
-
Starting salary will be within the range of £27,000 per annum (pro-rata)
-
Annual Leave is 30 days, plus statutory public holidays (pro-rata)
-
Automatic entry into the employer pension scheme after 3 months of service, with the option to opt-out
-
All posts at MLMS are subject to reasonable adjustment under the Equalities Act (2010)

All appointments at MLMS are subject to a probationary period
-
The appointment is terminable by one month’s notice on either side
